Staff Report
More than 100 people turned out Nov. 29 at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture for an evening of art held in solidarity with the Palestinian people and their right to self-determination.
The event featured a screening of the Palestinian film “Blood Like Water.”

Jarene Fleming sang two Yiddish songs, “Mayn Rue Platz“ and “Zog nit Keynmol.” The first tells of sorrow, while the second is about the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising, which has sharp parallels with the genocide now being committed in Gaza.
The event was sponsored by the Virginia Defenders and moderated by Danielle DiBlasio, who heads up the organization’s support work on Palestine.
